What Our Team Says
Hear directly from the people who build Riverside Pallet Co. every day.
I started here right after high school with zero experience. They trained me on every machine in the shop. Now I lead a repair crew of five guys and make more than most of my friends with college degrees. Bobby treats everyone with respect and the work is honest.
I came from a corporate sales background where I was just a number. Here, I actually know every client personally and have real authority to solve problems. The flexibility is great too — I work hybrid, and nobody watches the clock as long as the work gets done.
Home every night, weekends off, and the trucks are well-maintained. I drove long-haul for ten years before this and my only regret is not switching sooner. The route optimization system they use means less time stuck in traffic and more efficient deliveries.
What I appreciate most is that management actually listens to QC. If I flag a problem, production stops until we fix it. That is rare in this industry. They invested in moisture meters and load testing equipment because we asked for better tools. It makes the job easier and the product better.
I started as a warehouse associate stacking pallets. Within two years I was promoted to lead, and after four years I became supervisor. They paid for my forklift certification and my OSHA 30-hour course. There is a real path forward here if you show up and work hard.
The team culture here is something I have never experienced elsewhere. Everyone helps each other, from the warehouse floor to the front office. The quarterly BBQs are legendary, and they genuinely care about work-life balance. I have never been pressured to skip a vacation or work a holiday.
Training & Development Programs
We invest heavily in our people. Every employee has access to structured training programs from day one.
New Hire Orientation (Week 1)
Every new hire receives a full week of paid orientation covering company history, safety protocols, equipment operation, quality standards, and environmental practices. You will shadow experienced team members before touching any equipment independently.
Forklift Certification
We provide OSHA-compliant forklift training and certification at no cost. The program includes 8 hours of classroom instruction, a written exam, and 8 hours of hands-on training with our fleet of Toyota forklifts. Certification is renewed annually.
CDL Training Assistance
Employees interested in driving for us can apply for our CDL training assistance program. We cover up to $4,000 in CDL school tuition in exchange for a 2-year driving commitment. Several of our current drivers earned their CDL through this program.
Quality Control Certification
Our QC certification program trains inspectors on NWPCA grading standards, moisture testing procedures, ISPM-15 compliance verification, and load testing protocols. Certified QC inspectors receive a $1.50/hour pay increase.
Leadership Development
High-performing employees are invited to our Leadership Development Program, a 6-month curriculum covering team management, conflict resolution, production planning, and safety administration. 80% of our supervisors completed this program.
Safety & First Aid
All employees complete OSHA 10-hour safety training within their first 30 days. Supervisors complete OSHA 30-hour certification. We also provide CPR/AED training and maintain on-site certified first responders on every shift.
Career Growth Paths
We promote from within whenever possible. Here are the typical advancement paths our employees follow.
Operations Track
60% of our current supervisors started as warehouse associates.
Logistics Track
CDL training assistance available for qualified candidates.
Sales & Admin Track
Our current GM started as customer service 12 years ago.
A Workplace Built on Respect
We are a hands-on, blue-collar operation and we are proud of it. Our culture is built on mutual respect, hard work, and the understanding that every person on this team — from the newest warehouse associate to the general manager — plays an essential role in our success.
We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, or unsafe behavior. Period. Every employee goes through respect-in-the-workplace training during orientation, and we enforce a zero-tolerance policy for any violation. Our open-door policy means anyone can raise a concern directly with management at any time.
Beyond the work itself, we make time for team events: quarterly BBQs, an annual company outing (last year we went to Big Bear), holiday parties, and monthly birthday celebrations. These are not corporate obligations — they are genuine opportunities to enjoy the company of the people you work with.
